During the KYC verification process—and in some cases, during transaction reviews on the Bybit Kazakhstan platform—you may be required to confirm the source of your income and the origin of your funds.
Why is this necessary?
This requirement is in place for both financial security (including fraud prevention) and compliance with legal and international standards on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).
Why does Bybit Kazakhstan request this information?
The platform strictly adheres to legal and regulatory requirements. Verifying the source of funds is a key part of comprehensive verification, which helps to:
-
speed up the review process,
-
reduce risks,
-
ensure regulatory compliance,
-
and grant you access to all platform features.
What will you need to provide in the questionnaire?
As part of the enhanced verification, you'll be asked to answer a few simple questions. This will only take 2–3 minutes, but helps us better understand your financial profile.
Please respond truthfully and accurately to avoid any delays in the verification process. One of the most important questions is about the origin of the funds you plan to use for investing on Bybit Kazakhstan.
What kind of questions will you be asked?
The questionnaire includes a few mandatory questions to help us build your financial profile and assess potential risks. Here’s a brief overview:
-
Your current status
Select the category that best describes your current situation: employed, self-employed, student, retired, or unemployed. You can also select multiple roles (e.g., student and employed, retired and employed).
-
Your actual annual income
Provide your current and document-supported income—not projected or desired trading income. You’ll be able to select from income ranges. If none apply, you can choose "Other" and enter a custom value.
-
Main source of income
Clarify where the funds you plan to use come from—this could be salary, savings, business income, investment returns, family support, or cryptocurrency mining.
Why is it important to provide accurate information?
We ask you to provide actual income and source details, not estimated or intended income. This helps
-
speed up the verification process,
-
avoid additional requests and delays,
-
and unlock full platform features.
All information must be supported by official documentation. You’ll need to upload documents that verify the details you’ve provided. This is standard international practice.
What documents are suitable?
The list of documents is determined by your current status (for example, student, employee, entrepreneur, etc.) and your source of funds. The full list of documents is provided in the next section of the article.
If you have multiple sources of income:
Your income may be formed from several sources at the same time. In this case:
-
You may provide documents for each source, regardless of the main category indicated in the questionnaire;
-
There is no need to limit yourself to a single category (for example, only "student" or only "employee").
Examples of situations
-
Student-employed: provide documents both to confirm your scholarship/student status and documents under the "employed persons" category;
-
Employed person + sole entrepreneur: attach a copy of your employment contract and/or a bank statement reflecting regular salary deposits for the past year, as well as documents confirming income from entrepreneurial activity.
General requirements:
-
The document must be clear, unedited, and not cropped.
-
Ideally, provide a scan or PDF with an official stamp/signature.
-
The document must include the date and issuer details.
-
It must also show the amount of income or assets.
IMPORTANT: Screenshots without the owner's name or documents that cannot verify the source of income will not be accepted.
