Bybit Kazakhstan has introduced Passkey 2.0, a Fast Identity Online (FIDO) passkey that uses biometrics registered on your device for secure verification across different devices. A passkey is a new, phishing-resistant, and user-friendly way to authenticate online. Instead of a password, your device generates a unique cryptographic key pair. One part of this key pair is stored securely on your device, and the other is registered with the website or service you're signing up for. This means you no longer need to remember complex passwords or worry about them being stolen in data breaches. Passkeys also add an extra layer of protection for accounts, ensuring faster and more secure transactions to safeguard your account.

    Create a Passkey

Before creating a Passkey, ensure you are using supported devices and the latest Bybit Kazakhstan App version:

    Devices

    App Version

A device with iOS 16 or Android 9.0 and above, or a USB security key that supports the FIDO2 protocol.

Bybit Kazakhstan App version 4.47.0 or above.

If you encounter the following issues when adding a key on an Android device, please try using an alternative verification method or device:

    • Error when creating a Passkey: This may be due to missing Google service on your current device. Consider installing Google Service or using a different device.

    • NFC key not recognized: There might be an abnormality in the NFC recognition. Try a different Passkey method or device.

    • Unable to add Passkey via “another device”: This may be because your device is incompatible with this Passkey method. Try a different Passkey method or device.

Passkey verification methods may vary depending on your device. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to add a Passkey to the Bybit Kazakhstan App. Please use your most commonly used device to add the Passkey to your Bybit Kazakhstan account.
